The Award For Best Emmy Ceremony Goes To…

Imageworks’ Craig Bentley, who is serving on the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Pacific Southwest chapter Board of Governors, recently served as an Executive Producer for the 2011 regional Emmy ceremonies. The event, emceed by local celebrity Russ T. Nailz, was a huge success for all involved. The purpose of the Emmy Awards is to recognize outstanding achievement in television by conferring annual awards of merit in the Pacific Southwest region.

Under the Boardwalk: The MONOPOLY Story, the feature-length film by Imageworks’ Craig Bentley and Kevin Tostado, will be playing theatrically in select cities starting in May 2011, with a sneak preview week in San Diego starting March 4th. Celebrating the 25th Year of Imageworks!

This October, Imageworks will be celebrating its 25th birthday! That’s 25 years of creating high-quality videos and content for our clients. For instance, December marked the 15th year in a row that Imageworks produced Legal Update for the Commission on Peace Officers Standards & Training (POST), helping to keep our state’s police forces informed and safely protecting our streets. Imageworks also recently completed production on another POST project, Elder & Dependent Adult Abuse, which focuses on law enforcement’s role in safeguarding both elderly and dependent adult victims.

Checking it Once, Checking it Twice…

Imageworks recently completed production on a telecourse for POST on Identifying Fraudulent & Counterfeit Government Documents. This training program shows that counterfeit and fraudulent government documents support serious criminal areas such as narcotics trafficking, human trafficking, gang business and terrorist activity. The program details the differences between a counterfeit, fraudulent, or altered document; describes the tools that officers may use to identify security features on government documents; and teaches that thorough investigation of all cases is key to preventing fraud.

Getting the Word Out

Did you know that people with disabilities are four times more likely to be sexually abused than people without disabilities? Imageworks just completed an awareness video for SEEDS Educational Services to help exceptional learners relate effectively with others in their community, and build safe and meaningful relationships. For the tenth year running, Imageworks also produced and directed a two-camera shoot recording the annual Venture Challenge competition for the Entrepreneurial Management Center at SDSU.

Fourteen Years of Legal Updates

Another year, another several thousand peace officers in California trained! For the fourteenth year, Imageworks’ Craig Bentley produced the annual legal update program for digital OutPost and POST. Imageworks’ also produced special video segments this month for the Employers’ Fraud Task Force 2010 Fraud-Fighting Awards at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim (shown above).

Leaving Las Vegas

Principal photography is wrapping up on Under the Boardwalk: The MONOPOLY Story, a documentary about the game of MONOPOLY produced by Imageworks’ Craig Bentley and Kevin Tostado. They are back from Las Vegas after having their superb crew of 14 film the 2009 MONOPOLY World Championship. Forty-one competitors from all over the world descended on Caesars Palace to battle it out – three full rounds of play lasting all day Wednesday, semi-finals for the Top 16 players on Thursday morning, and the World Championship match with the final four early Thursday afternoon.

Award News 2009

Imageworks has been recognized yet again with a Bronze Telly Award & Aurora Gold Award for its work on “Crowd Management Update” for POST. Additionally, Imageworks received an Aurora Platinum: Best of Show Award for “Anti-Reproductive Rights Crimes (Update).”

Training Tomorrow’s Leaders

Imageworks recently completed a video for Gordon Training International on how the Gordon Model helps leaders to become more effective as part of their Leadership Effectiveness Training (L.E.T.). Using 20 vignettes, narration and graphics, the video depicts the benefits of using Active Listening as well as how to recognize the many communication roadblocks that people unknowingly use in the workplace.

Imageworks also has created its first in-theater advertisements for the County of San Bernardino on behalf of Cook & Schmid of San Diego. This project was a perfect example of how Imageworks can provide a quick turnaround and successfully execute your next idea or project.

Advancing Peace Officer Training

Imageworks has completed production on another two projects with digital OutPost for POST: “2009 Legal Update” and “SWAT Operations.” Legal Update provides peace officers a comprehensive overview of new legislation and case law decisions impacting California law enforcement in 2009. SWAT Operations helps patrol officers, command and executive staff, and SWAT team members to better understand the dynamics and logistics of response situations and how best to coordinate interagency tactics.

Production is going strong on “Under the Boardwalk,” a documentary about the game of MONOPOLY produced by Imageworks’ Craig Bentley and Kevin Tostado. Their 8 high-definition cameras and filming crew of 10 were on hand to capture all the excitement of the 2009 US MONOPOLY Championship in Washington, D.C.
