“Under the Boardwalk” Makes Broadcast Premiere!

The TV version of Under the Boardwalk: The MONOPOLY Story, the documentary produced by Imageworks’ Craig Bentley, will make its broadcast premiere this Monday (3/11/13) at 9:30pm on KPBS-TV in San Diego!  As part of the KPBS spring fundraising drive, Craig will be interviewed during the pledge breaks.

Fighting Fraud Across California

Working with the California Dept. of Insurance and the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office, Imageworks updated a Workers’ Comp Fraud video that we originally produced ten years ago!  We pride ourselves on making videos that are easy to update.  While all the interviews and stand-ups were redone and a new scenario was added, one of the original scenarios still held up ten years later and was included in the new show.  You can see excerpts from the video on our Portfolio page.

Imageworks Produces Emmy Awards Again

For the second year in a row, Imageworks’ Craig Bentley (far left in above photo), who is serving on the Board of Governors for the Pacific Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, was honored to co-produce the chapter’s 2012 Emmy Awards ceremony.  The event was emceed by Mark Christopher Lawrence, star of the NBC series Chuck.

Four More Videos to Help Catch Crooks

One of our favorite clients, COPLINK, is doing such a good job refining their database software for generating law enforcement leads, they were recently acquired by IBMImageworks just finished four new videos for COPLINK that demonstrate more ways the software can help track down suspects.

Improving Workers’ Comp Outcomes

Employers’ Fraud Task Force had us produce another video in a series aimed at reducing workers’ comp fraud.  This will not only help improve outcomes for injured workers, but decrease costs for employers as well.

Building Solutions For Our Clients

Imageworks recently completed over two years of work for the San Diego Regional Center, converting an in-person series of Dual Diagnosis training classes regarding developmental disabilities and mental illnesses into a 30-hour online curriculum that participants can complete from anywhere in the world. Employing a multimedia interface designed specifically for the project, the classes can be taken just for enrichment, or for Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Employee News

Today marked the 5th anniversary of Imageworks’ employee Kevin Tostado’s first day working for Imageworks. In recognition of his hard work and contributions over the years, Kevin has been promoted from an Associate Producer to Producer with Imageworks. Kevin recently completed filming of a webseries he independently produced titled Research, and is hard at work on his next feature film, Eternity: The Movie. Kevin previously produced Under the Boardwalk: The MONOPOLY Story with Imageworks’ Craig Bentley, which is now available on Amazon, iTunes, and Netflix.

Legal Eagles

Imageworks has completed production on its 16th Legal Update program for the Commission on Peace Officers Standards & Training (POST), which helps to keep California police officers up to date on the latest changes in legislation.

Imageworks also recently finished another telecourse for POST: Legal Aspects of Terrorism Update. Whether they realize it or not, every peace officer is collecting and analyzing intelligence every day. By legally investigating suspicious activity and crimes that support terrorism, officers are building a knowledge base for their community and ultimately thwarting or disrupting terrorist activity.

Imageworks Celebrates 25 Years!

Today Imageworks celebrates the 25th anniversary of its founding! On this day in 1986, Craig Bentley and Jorge Castellanos signed the partnership papers at Imageworks’ first home office in the San Diego neighborhood of Tierrasanta (otherwise known as Craig’s apartment at the time). Who would have guessed Imageworks would still be going strong (in a real office) all these years later!

In other news, Imageworks announces the hiring of Emmy Award-winning editor Don Sinatra. Don’s background with TV stations KPBS and KOCT will help the company complete new projects even faster!

The Award For Best Emmy Ceremony Goes To…

Imageworks’ Craig Bentley, who is serving on the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Pacific Southwest chapter Board of Governors, recently served as an Executive Producer for the 2011 regional Emmy ceremonies. The event, emceed by local celebrity Russ T. Nailz, was a huge success for all involved. The purpose of the Emmy Awards is to recognize outstanding achievement in television by conferring annual awards of merit in the Pacific Southwest region.

Celebrating the 25th Year of Imageworks!

This October, Imageworks will be celebrating its 25th birthday! That’s 25 years of creating high-quality videos and content for our clients. For instance, December marked the 15th year in a row that Imageworks produced Legal Update for the Commission on Peace Officers Standards & Training (POST), helping to keep our state’s police forces informed and safely protecting our streets. Imageworks also recently completed production on another POST project, Elder & Dependent Adult Abuse, which focuses on law enforcement’s role in safeguarding both elderly and dependent adult victims.

Checking it Once, Checking it Twice…

Imageworks recently completed production on a telecourse for POST on Identifying Fraudulent & Counterfeit Government Documents. This training program shows that counterfeit and fraudulent government documents support serious criminal areas such as narcotics trafficking, human trafficking, gang business and terrorist activity. The program details the differences between a counterfeit, fraudulent, or altered document; describes the tools that officers may use to identify security features on government documents; and teaches that thorough investigation of all cases is key to preventing fraud.

Getting the Word Out

Did you know that people with disabilities are four times more likely to be sexually abused than people without disabilities? Imageworks just completed an awareness video for SEEDS Educational Services to help exceptional learners relate effectively with others in their community, and build safe and meaningful relationships. For the tenth year running, Imageworks also produced and directed a two-camera shoot recording the annual Venture Challenge competition for the Entrepreneurial Management Center at SDSU.
